5The companion: Angel with the Tools of the Passion  The angels left and right of the pillars of the church carry tools in their hands, with which Jesus was tortured. He has suffered violence rather than become a perpetrator of violence himself. Through help from "above" he breaks the cycle of violence and counter-violence: redemption. The angels also want to accompany the visitors to St. Michael on their journey through life – because the human person experiences not just happiness and joy in life: We live in a world full of violence; Suffering and hardship, loss and death are part of our life. |
