6Sorrowful Mother of God  Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to witness how her son was humiliated, tortured and murdered. The pain pierced her like a sword. The "Sorrowful Mother of God" wants to persuade us to participate in the suffering of other people. The candles which people light here express their thoughts and feelings of compassion, of gratitude or of petition. The altar of this chapel, consecrated to Mary Magdalene, was destroyed in the war. During the reconstruction, the figure of the Mother of God was installed. |
